- B-A: Only alerts when objects cross from side B to side A.
- Both: Alerts for crossings in both directions.
-
Set Detection Rules
- Adjust sensitivity to match your monitoring needs.
- If available, enable Human/Vehicle Filtering to reduce false alarms.
-
Link Notifications to the Surveillance Center
- Under Linkage Action, tick Notify Surveillance Center and any other actions (e.g., recording or triggering an alarm).
Step 2: Enable Notifications on the Hik-Connect App
2.1 Configure Notification Settings in the App
- Open the Hik-Connect app on your mobile device.
- Go to the Device Settings for the NVR or the specific camera channel.

- Customise the notification type, such as sound, vibration, or pop-ups, according to your preference.
2.3 Test Notifications
- Simulate a line crossing by moving across the defined line in the camera’s field of view.
- Check that you receive a notification on your mobile device.
Troubleshooting Tips
-
No Notification Received:
- Ensure the NVR or DVR is connected to the internet.
- Verify that the line is correctly drawn, and the crossing direction is properly set.
- Check that Notify Surveillance Center is enabled in the NVR’s or DVR's Linkage Action settings.
-
False Alarms:
- Refine the line placement and adjust sensitivity.
- Use Human/Vehicle Filtering to reduce alerts from irrelevant objects, if supported.
With Line Crossing Detection properly configured, you’ll benefit from precise alerts whenever a monitored area is breached, helping you stay proactive in your security management.
